Welcome to LA

Nothing eventual happened on the plane ride to LA. Usually I listen to music, read a book, or nap. But this flight, I didn’t do any of that. I just starred out at the window or at the seat back in front of me. I guess I just have a lot of things on my mind.
It didn’t really dawn on me until I saw the Rockies what exactly I was doing. By most standards what I did would seem pretty irrational. I had a good job where I enjoyed mostly what I did. I had a nice apartment in DC and had a comfortable life.
Now all I have with me is all that I have on my back – A tent, a sleeping pad, a sleeping bag, a jacket, a rain jacket, a pair of shorts, a pair of pants, 7 pairs of boxers, 4 T-shirts, and three pairs of socks. Of course, I also have other various camping items. They say that simplifying your life is hardest thing to do. Lets see if I can do it over the next three months. I am really excited for this new adventure and want to thank everyone for their best wishes.
Another funny story…. I drank a ton of water on the flight and every time I went to the bathroom, the same guy was in the back talking to the stewardess. Granted he had a different beer in his hand every time. Good for him.
Hope you are sleeping!
You go Bret!! Enjoy every minute! You are an awesome young man and should take this adventure. I wish I had been brave enough to do something like this at your age!
